Play with plain, bubbly, coloured, warm or cold water teach lucie and L. that it pours, splashes, runs, soaks and feels cold in the end even if it's warm to start with. If she blows, it bubbles. Some things she puts in it float, some sink and some dissolve. It can be carried in things with no holes, but it leaks through a sieve or cupped hands and seeps through fabrics. The child will play in scale with the quantity provide, so while a paddling pool is glorious and a bath is obvious, a washing-up bowl on lots of newspaper, with small containers to fill and empty, and extras such as ice cubes, food colouring or a whisk, is good, too.

petit escargot
porte sur son dos
sa maisonette
aussitot qu'il pleut
il est tout heureux
il sort sa tete....

we haveTalked about what we are going to make and have fun coloring the line drawings with the children before opening the can of Play-Doh.
then,we decided to make a snail!because i believe the snail is the project that the children can make by themselves!snails are easy, fun, and fast and, most importantly, successful!!!well done lucie!

A perfect math games for kids at this stage involve sorting activities. Grouping play doh colours together, separating them, pairing them up...

  • In this activity, lucie have to Sort out the play doh colours together - yellow in that box, green in the green box, ...
  • Sort those play doh into colors - then muddle them all up again! Then sort... then muddle... fun!

Since several weeks, lucie learns  to stick and likes more and more this activitie.  she knows now how to hold her brush, and understands that it is necessary to put the glue on the sheet to stick to it then coloured sticky labels or glitter. She learns devellopper its fine motors skills. We take advantage of it for repeat the  colors in french and in English. We have realise a dragonfly, a symbol of return of the spring!
