I have filled some pots with Lemon wedges , candy, salt and unsweetened cocoa.

i have talked with W. about the different foods he like encourage and thim to use words like sweet, sour, salty and bitter to describe the foods.

"Why are you frowning?  How does the ____taste?  Is it sweet, sour, bitter or salty?"  Understand when instead of sampling, children eat the foods they like.

Finally we have  talked about the tastes he like the best and not the best.

Next step,a lesson of cooking!

I have put a mystery item into a shoes boxes. W.,age 3, have a chance to feel inside the bag to guess what the object is. We have used descriptive words such as smooth or rough and soft or hard. After he have had a chance to feel what is in the boxes ,i have given his guesses, and reveal what the object is.

Our hands can  touch and feel what is around you. This way you can find out very quickly what it is. Our hands send touch messages to our brain such as if something is hot or cold and hard or soft. When something touches our skin ,our skin cells send messages to our brain. . Some parts of our skin can feel things better than other parts. Fingers, toes, and lips are very sensitive. Some animals have special ways of feeling such as using their whiskers to move around and to detect food that they cannot see!

The sense of smell plays is a very important in our life.
I have organised some  "smell games" with the kids to help develop their sense of smell.

,coffee etc

i have fill some others with Banana chunks, cinnamon sticks, peanut butter, coffee grounds ,orange, onions and the children can close their eyes and guess what they are smelling inside the pots.photo blog 26-copie-1

We have Discussed the colors to be used, stamp patterns, and how to apply paint with palm printer and where and how to stamp on paper.

I have asked to my young stampers to work one color at a time !!I consider doing this in 2 sittings to avoid smearing and make the transition of colors easier. Try overlapping the prints to produce interesting designs or dab the palm printers repeatedly to create a multi patterned effect.

These stamps make wonderful cards or even wrapping paper,or is simply beautiful to display as a work of art!!

Next time,i will create my own stamp using some large potatoes, apple or carrots in half lengthways.

There are many games that can be played with an abacus wooden game.First of it is learning to separate the different colors, and identify form shapes like square,stars,circle...

An another activity using an abacus is counting, adding or subtracting by simply moving few beads on the wires.

Lucie love to role play and copy my actions, and taking care of her,or of L. ,age 5 months, is one activity she see i do a lot! Both girls and boys  spend hours carrying around their ‘baby’, feeding it, changing nappies, pushing a pram, and putting their baby to bed. And since they are a real baby in the house, then this game is becoming even more prevalent!
