What a calm afternoon to share a game with W.,age nearly 3,and who is more and more confident with french now.
I give him a picture and i encouraged him to repeat the words in french and english as well.

"give me...the cat,show me...le chien!

then i have used this game as a simple shape, word and picture matching activity, with the child trying to piece together some jigsaws, without any direct assistance from me! a little bit to hard!!!! lol

Learning shapes is a key skill for younger children and help them with developing other more advanced skills .  These are not only fun activities for kids for learning but will help keep them busy and using their imagination!

painting shapes with wooden blocks...circle,triangle,square...

rolling different shapes in the flour...

Mix and match shapes...  we have  stick out different shapes ( using different colors to introduce learning colors ).  i have asked to W. to find the squares, les carres and  which other shape is similar (the rectangle,le rectangle) and have them pick it out.

We have done this with many different shapes ,and color(and sizes as well)
jaune,rouge,blanc...

The circus is great fun for kids and grown-ups alike. The brightly colored tents, the animals, and the trapeze artists are especially exciting for small children!

so for this term, circus will be our theme topic!

In this activity lucie,W. and jessica let pretend they are circus animals who have been trained to jump through hoops !!The children line up in a single line and take turns stepping and jumping through the hoops!carreful little tiggers ,sometimes the hoop could be flaming!

How to Play With Pots and pan

the little ones can quickly become bored when they are stuck inside on a rainy day, or maybe they are just tired of playing with the same old toys and are looking for something new to entertain them. You don't have to look any further than your kitchen cupboards to find plenty of ways to entertain them on their next snow day!!!!!Pull out those pots and pans for hours of entertainment ...

i lay out pots and pans of all different sizes upside-down in on the kitchen foor.
The children seat and  hand  a wooden spoon in each hand and i encourage the young child to bang on the bottoms of
the pots and pans with the spoons to make different noises, creating music.
then i give a child a pan with some pasta or rice poured into it and the child to pour the rice from one pot ,pan to another,mix....

look at the mess on the floor but it's so funny!..
